Dusty Johnston (DJ Dusty) is a producer and DJ based in Ottawa, Canada.
DJing since 1988, Dusty has established a longstanding presence in Ottawa’s hip hop and electronic music scene, with influential residencies at The Thunderdome, Atomic Nightclub and The Mercury Lounge. These venues played an important role in shaping Ottawa’s club culture and provided the foundation for his decades-long connection to hip hop and electronic music.
As a producer, Dusty creates cinematic electronica, combining acoustic and orchestral instrumentation with contemporary electronic production. His three albums, All Summer In A Day, Oceans and Dreamlandia, explore a sound that moves between electronic textures, melodic composition and atmospheric arrangements.
